  • Only one person out of the vehicle at a time.
  • Residents are required to follow staff instructions.
  • KCSWMD reserves the right to refuse service and the intake of materials to any one, at any time.
Email us with questions!

A Few Things to Note

We do not take anything like tires, mattresses, glass, Freon-bearing appliances, etc.
See all items not accepted on our Not Accepted page.

Please do not leave ANY items outside our building or doors. All items must be accounted for by a warehouse associate, so you must bring them to the receiving door (alongside the railroad tracks) during open hours of operation.

Oil, oil filters, antifreeze, books, clothing, and shoes can be brought to us anytime that we are open - these self-serve facilities are located outside of the KC Recycling Depot building (on the west and south sides).

Items that we charge for must be paid for at time of service.

How to Drop Off

  • Please enter from Market Street, or the alley off Union Street, by our parking area. Circle around to the back of the building to reach the south receiving door (alongside the railroad tracks). The alley next to the railroad tracks is exit only.

  • Due to liability reasons, our warehouse associates will NOT be able to assist you in getting items out of vehicles.
    Please bring help if needed.
