FULL-TIME Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

​DUTIES:

  • HHW Coordinator for the Solid Waste Management District of Kosciusko County is responsible for assisting with resource reduction, safe collection and processing, recycling program sites maintenance, and performing various other maintenance duties.
  • Accepting, sorting, storing, and preparing for shipment electronics, tires, household chemicals, paints, light bulbs, batteries, sharps, and other recyclable materials.
  • Collects and issues receipts for items received in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Drives to collection locations and picks up items such as cell phones, packaging for shipment, and notifying Director as required.
  • Performs various duties in the packaging of items to ship or deliver, such as sealing, weighing, and labeling full containers, loading trucks and pallets to maximize truck capacity, and helps the HHW Coordinator to create a bill of lading for materials.
  • Assists in special collection events, including shoes, paper shredding, and tires, accepting items from residents, tracking inventory, and organizing and stacking/loading items as required.
  • Assists with daily housekeeping of offices, warehouse, and grounds, including emptying trash and recycling containers, changing light bulbs, picking up trash and debris, mowing, snow removal, and performing general gardening on grounds.
  • Creates and submits various reports and documents as required, including CESQG paperwork, shipping logs, inventory records, fluorescent tube shipping information, and end of month reports.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
  • Heavy lifting: 1 year (Required)
  • Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
Language:
  • English (Required)
License/Certification:
  • Possession of a valid Indiana driver's license and a demonstrated safe driving record.
