There has been a change in how we process batteries, and it is now important that we sort batteries. This means we need you to keep like batteries together when you bring them in to us. (Alkaline with alkaline, lithium with lithium, nickel with nickel, buttons with buttons) It is important to keep your batteries in non-conductive and non-flammable containers such as plastic tubs or bags. Never use metal cans or cardboard. Want to go the extra step to keep them safe while waiting to bring them in? Tape both ends of the batteries.
Any mixed containers of batteries brought in to the KC Recycling Depot will be turned away until sorted. So start reading those batteries and keep them in separate containers. Let us know if you have any questions 574-372-3087

The Depot accepts all types of batteries!
- Please do not put items such as trash, light bulbs, fuses, or other random objects in the same container as your batteries.
This can lead to injury. - If any batteries are seriously damaged, put them in a separate container and call it to our attention when you drop off your
batteries at the Depot.
